I miss cheerleading so much. During the season I wanted nothing to do with it but now that it is over I miss it so much. Thankfully, open gyms for the 2016- 2017 season start tonight. Unfortunately, Tanner will not be coaching, but our new cheer coach will be Pia Twigg. I am very excited for her she has done great things with the Crestwood cheerleading team. I am also very thankful because she knows what she is talking about and is a former cheerleader of Tanners. Tryouts are always a tough time though, because everyone is nervous and stressed out, plus there are several rumors that begin around this time. I am looking forward to a great season and final season as a Paris cheerleader. I will truly miss this sport more than anything when it is gone. I am more than ready to be thrown into the air.

Last Thursday we had our awards banquet. This was the very last thing I had to do for the 2015-2016 season. I can't believe next time it will be my senior year. This year I received the toughest cheerleader award. Which goes along with one of the most important things I've learned this season. No matter how many times a stunt falls or a tumbling pass doesn't hit, if you never give up you will eventually get it. Over the season I've struggled with many stunts but every practice my group threw it over and over again until we got it. Over the season I also went through some pretty hard times which seem little to very one else, and over the time cheerleading became my escape. It allowed me to not think about what was going on and just be thrown in the air doing what I loved. Now I have no idea what I will do without it.

Last week, Tanner announced that he will not be coaching the cheerleading team next year. Having him as a cheer coach for the last three was great. He is one of the best coaches I'll ever have. I'm very upset that he will not be returning for many reasons. One being that it's my senior year, a new coach means it's a learning year. So it's almost as if we all feel like freshmen again. I'm very nervous to see who the new coach will be. I don't know if anyone will give as much to the cheerleading program that tanner has. The past five years that he has been coach this program has been a success. As a cheerleader we have worked to hard to see this program fall. Hopefully the next coach can hold the program together.
