I have a huge choice to make within my cheerleading career. I have to decide if I want to cheer in college or not. If I choose to cheer it will factor in where I go to school. If I choose to cheer I will try out for the university of Kentucky. If I don't I have no idea what I will do with my life. I'm undecided because, how much farther can I really go? I mean I'm not an all star cheerleader so there isn't really much left. Plus if I cheer in college I will have to be at school a lot more. I don't know if I want to do that. I really enjoy being with my family and friends and if I cheer I won't get that time. But if I cheer I come make something of it.

This week is the last week of the 2015 - 2016 cheerleading season. This Friday is senior night. This is truly bittersweet. I can't believe my junior year cheer season is over, and that next year will be my last year. But, I also can't believe I made it through the cheer season without my best friend. Cheering this season without Johnna was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Cheerleading was the sport that brought us together. Our freshman year, we both made the team and it was one of the greatest things. Without cheerleading I wouldn't have had the opportunity's I have. I have gotten to cheer at many events such as, a Cardinals game, a U of I game, and many other great things. The best thing that has come out of this sport throughout my high school career, is my best friend.

Cheering at a basketball game is one of the most fun and boring things you can do as a cheerleader. Sometimes the games are interesting and exciting and other times they are not. While cheering at a game you as a cheerleader you are in charge of keeping the crowd fired up. We as Paris cheerleaders cheer start with the school song at the end of the JV basketball game. Then with the band we do pre game. This consists of stunting, waving, and jumping. At five mintues to the start of varsity, we get ready to do starting line up. Which is normally just a lib line connecting arms with flyers. After starting line up we go to the sidelines and cheer until half time. During half time we have to do the school song again. Until two mintues when we have to go back and cheer again.

My future goal is to become a cheerleader at the university of Kentucky.  U.K. Has the best cheerleading team in the country. From cheering at basketball games to competitions these athletes slay the sport of cheerleading. The U.K. Cheerleading team is divided into two separate teams. A white squad and a blue squad. The blue squad is like the varsity. The white squad is like the junior varsity. Former Paris High School cheerleader, Drake Wiseman is a successful member of the white squad. The Kentucky Wildcats just recently won their twenty first national championship. Which is the highest number of national champions for a school to hold.

As the cheerleading season comes to an end, and there becomes more last times, you learn to hug your team a little tighter and enjoy the last few practices. This week is a bitter sweet week for my team and I. We are going to state! For the third year in a row I get the privilege to go compete in Bloomington with the best teams in the state. There is truly no other feeling. Sadly, this is the last week we have together of the competition season. We have three more practices together. Then, it will all be over, another season has ended. Over this past cheerleading season, we have had some of the best and some of the headrest times for our team. From drama and fighting because we spend so much time together, to winning sectionals, it has been an amazing year.
